"If you're a sports fan you realize that when you meet someone, like a girlfriend, they kind of have to root for your team. They really don't have a choice."
-Jimmy Fallon
Green will forever make me think of the NY JETS. This color has been such a staple in my family's every day life and it continues to spread to the people around us. Being a Jets fan is never easy, but it is the Markman way of life. Although Dad is the only one that can remember a Super Bowl season (1969), the rest of us cross our fingers and toes each fall that we will get a taste of victory. The Jets football season (although played in the fall/winter) is a year long sport for our family. We are continuously reading articles, watching videos, wearing Jets clothing, sharing information and saying our prayers that this will be the year. Over the years we hoped with all hopes that new players such as Wayne Chrebet, Laveraneus Coles, Darelle Revis, Curtis Martin, Boomer Eisiason and now Tim Teabow would lead us to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, each year ends with us saying, "maybe next year." Nevertheless, we always come back each season to cheer our team on - no fair-weather fans in this family!

As our family grew, we added new members to the fan club. Jay and Richie have become active members of "Gang Green" and show their Jets enthusiasm as much as the rest of us (if not more!) Even Jasmine, who was raised as a Giants fan, is making her move over to the "Jets Nation."
Michael and Dad go to an away game and pick a different city to visit each season. This year they graciously let us all crash their party. Richie and I drove up to Washington D.C. and the rest of the family drove down to meet us. We went to the NY Jets @ Washington Redskins game in early December. It was such a fun weekend! We had awesome seats and even got to meet Plaxico Burress' father! In true Jets fashion, the game was a nail biter! Thankfully, the Jets pulled out a win in the final minutes of the game!

J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS!
